Actigard® 50WG is a selective, systemic compound used for the control of downy mildew in leafy vegetables, bacterial leaf spots in tomatoes and blue mold in tobacco. Actigard 50WG induces host plant resistance; it has no direct activity against target pathogens. Actigard 50WG exhibits a unique mode of action which mimics the natural systemic activated resistance (SAR) response found in most plant species.

It's vital that growers watch the blue mold forecasting systems. NC State's North American Plant Disease Forecast Center can be found on the Web at http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/pp/bluemold/

Highlights:

  • Minimal impact on beneficial insects
  • Activates plants for protection against a variety of pathogens
  • Unique mode of action means resistance development is unlikely
  • Designated by the EPA as a Reduced Risk Pesticide
  • Low use rates
