What is it > Overview
Switch™ 62.5WG (water-dispersible granules) is a prepack mixture fungicide that combines two highly effective active ingredients into one treatment – cyprodinil, the systemic component, and fludioxonil, the contact component. It attacks the pathogen at four different stages in the pathogen life-cycle, providing long-lasting control. Switch fungicide controls plant disease by protecting the leaves and fruit both by working on the plant surface and in the plant. University trials demonstrated that the superior disease control provided by Switch on strawberries extended their postharvest shelf life.
Switch is an outstanding, low-use rate product for control of gray mold (Botrytis) and other important diseases in vegetable crops.
Postharvest Benefits in Strawberries:
University trials indicate that on strawberries, Switch provides excellent control of gray mold in the field as well as considerable postharvest control of the disease. Trials conducted by the University of California at Riverside in 2003 and 2004 showed that in experimental treatments where strawberry plants and fruit were sprayed with fungicides on a 10 day schedule, Switch controlled 90 percent of postharvest development of gray mold on strawberries stored for 6 days at room temperature after picking (applied 10 days before harvest). When applied immediately before harvest, Switch provided complete control of gray mold on stored strawberries 6 days after harvest.
Highlights:
Protection of the plant through contact and systemic activity.
Registered by the EPA as a reduced risk product.
Built-in resistance management with two different modes of action.
Lasting residual control of 7 to 10 days.
Excellent Integrated Pest Management (IPM) fit.
